Late Gamer Plays Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
A Review From Hidai Moya
The Peloponnesian War between Athens & Sparta in the late 5th century BC provides the background for the largest, most complex, detailed, & ambitious AC game in franchise history. A marriage between the open sea exploration of ACIV & RPG elements of Origins, it may very well have the best story since ACII (and the funniest). It certainly bewitched me on multiple occasions with it’s captivating leads & evocative drama. The very idea of befriending giants of Western Civilization such as Sokrates, Herodotus, Hippocrates, & Perikles alone is worth the price of admission. Combine that with some seriously badass Spartan action, incredible boss fights, the deepest quest system of any AC game, & this becomes a benchmark for all future titles. It’s the Ancient Greece RPG gamers have always wanted & finally got! Grade A
